heterosexism, and bias from the Knox community and from the world at large.

Hillel at the University of Illinois is a
pluralistic community for Jewish
of all backgrounds, races and sexual orientations. We have a
student group created by Hillel staff called Kehilat Keshat (Rainbow Community)
which serves as a social and support network for Jewish LGBT students.
University Pride Alliance (ILWUPA)
ILWUPA is an organization committed to bringing relevant LGBT issues to our
campus and exploring interest and
activism in the greater community. We
are an alliance and have meetings and events that are open to our community
members. Individual privacy is respected and nothing should be assumed

Solace is an organization designed to provide a safe and
welcoming space for gay, lesbian, and straight students, as well as students
questioning their sexual orientation, to interact socially and politically with
other people who are gay, lesbian, or an ally. Solace is committed to reducing
prejudice and discrimination in all its forms. Solace sponsors social
activities designed to educate the community on pertinent issues to end hate.
SOTA's (Sexual Orientation
Tolerance Association) purpose is to provide an atmosphere of support for gay
and lesbian students. It is open to all students.
The Triangle Association
represents the GLBT faculty and staff at IL State University. In addition,
the organization strives to promote communication among GLBT employees of IL
state as well as other groups and university organizations. The
organization's primary goal is developing and celebrating educational, social
and cultural activities and promoting safety, sensitivity and understanding in
and about the GLBT community on and off campus.
